Billiards & Snooker Association of W.A. Inc.

The Satellite Series is the qualifying system for the State Snooker Championship. The top ranked players (those on a handicap of 0 in 1st Division) are automatically qualified for the State Championship, all other players must compete in the Satellite events.

Satellite events are conducted on Saturdays, Sundays and Tuesdays between February and May, with 15 events held in total. Ranking points are earned from each player's best five results, with players earning entry to the State Championship in order of ranking.

You do not need to be a member of the BSAWA to enter a Satellite event - however, membership is required to compete in the State Championship.

The entry fee for each Satellite event is $10, with half the entry fees received paid out as prize money to the winner and runner up. All matches prior to the final are best of three frames, with the final best of five. Start time vary, so check the list below. Events played on Tuesday nights may be split across two weeks, any game due to start later than 10.00pm will be deferred to the following week.

Ranking points are calculated as follows: 10 points for entering an event, 1 point per frame won, 5 points per game won. 20 points bonus to the winner, 10 points bonus to the runner up, 5 points bonus to the semi finalists, 5 points bonus for any break of 50 or more.
